“We are in the midst of one of the greatest national crises in our country’s history.”
–Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis

SAMARITAN’S PURSE RESPONSE
As Dorian pummeled the Bahamas, Samaritan’s Purse loaded their DC-8 with emergency relief suplies and mobilized a Disaster Assistance Response Team to deploy as soon as the storm passed.

On Wednesday, the DC-8 landed in Nassau, Bahamas with 15 disaster response specialists, plastic tarp, Sawyer water filters, and two desalination units that can convert seawater into drinking water. Their helicopter and Cessna Caravan along with a local barge would help ferry these emergency supplies and their team to hard-to-reach areas.
